HAI's Load Control Modules (LCMs) allow utility customers to control a wide variety of
high consumption devices, such as water heaters, pool pumps, and air conditioners, for use in Smart Grid deployments.
These LCMs may be used by utility customers in Time of Use and Demand Response programs.
These LCMs are specifically designed for Utility Demand, utilizing randomized load pickup after outages.
They include current measuring, which senses the status of the load and allows for measure and display of current consumption. The LCMs have very low power consumption and are compact in size. HAI’s indoor LCM is for small appliances and lighting
and it can act as a repeater for ZigBee® systems, extending the range of control for sheddable loads, including fountains, small heaters and more.
LCMs can be controlled remotely by the utility company or by the homeowner over the Internet. They may also be controlled locally by
the homeowner using HAI’s other Home Area Network (HAN) products, such as the
Omnistat2 Programmable Communicating Thermostat (PCT) or
In Home Display (IHD).
